Welcome To Our Sunless State!

The end of September Steve's parents came to visit us for a few days to get out of the Texas heat ~ 90+ days over 100 degrees and a record high of 112! You couldn't even sweat it would evaporate off your skin. So, for those (I) who thought "Wow, I could lose like 10 pounds" think again. You would end up passing out the second you step out the door, hospitalized for dehydration or some sort and have 15 pounds of fluid pumped into your body, defeating the purpose of the genius weight loss idea. Or for those (I) who thought "Man, I could have a glowing tan", yeah right. This Washingtonian has skin like a Twilight star and would burn to a crisp like a delicious bacon strip. It's no wonder they wanted to come to the great Northwest where the air is fresh and the breeze is cool and the temperature is guaranteed to not reach past 66 degrees!

We always enjoy spending time with family. The kids love seeing and playing with their Grammy and PaPa and Steve and I enjoy being kid free!

One of the places we visited was the Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island. It's a gorgeous reserve and a great place to take an afternoon stroll.

The month of October they hosted a squash hunt for the kids. It was fun searching and finding all the different squashes throughout the property.

We also traveled to Sequim's pumpkin patch. The kids had fun running through the pumpkin field and hay maze. And I enjoyed the beginning of the Fall season. On our quest to find something to entertain our hungry stomachs we found a quant little restaurant call the Old Mill Cafe. The food was delicious! And the decor...well we won't go there.

Even though the visit was short hopefully it was sweet for my in-laws...enjoying the short lived cool breeze that the PNW had to offer.
