10th Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange

This year marked 10 years of doing cookies. One of my favorite traditions for the holiday season. It's a ladies only no kids event I host and I enjoy every bit of it. Each lady is required to make 5-6 dozen cookies and bring a gift for the elephant exchange. Every year the crowd gets bigger and bigger creating a large variety of cookies, bars and fudge.

I'll give you a moment to wipe the drool off your face...

This year I baked over 200 cookies! Most of them being sugar cookies for the ladies to decorate.

This year Santa (aka Steve) made an appearance. It was pretty funny to see the expression on everyone's face. There was one in particular that "Santa" had to explain that he was not "that kind of Santa"! Love that my husband is more than willing to play dress up.

Last year was the first year I incorporated an elephant gift exchange. So much fun with a group of ladies. There was a fair amount of stealing going on!

And a pregnant Janelle stole a bottle of Baileys for the after birth party!

The ladies went all out this year baking beautiful, delicious cookies. It was a pretty impressive sight and the smell of freshly baked goods was wonderful. I think everyone left with about 2-3 tin fills of cookies making the cookie exchange a success.

I want my parties to be memorable ones and always want my guest leave happy and glad that they came. So, as a parting gift I made each one a recipe book with all the cookies that were made, a homemade cinnamon man ornament and homemade peppermint cocoa.

Afterwards, I still had few sugar cookies left and thought how the kids would have fun decorating them.

I am so grateful to everyone who came and made the cookie exchange so much fun! I'm excited for next year and can't wait to create more fun memories.
