Frosting and Candy!

Every year we get together with some friends and decorate gingerbread houses! The kids love it because they get loads of candy...to eat. Like this kid who sneaks under the table to try his out:

And he couldn't figure out why he didn't have enough candy for his house.

This year we bought our kits from Costco and upon opening the box I find that the house is already assembled for us. Hallelujah! There's nothing like dealing with crappy frosting and a house that just won't stick together. Although I have been told that the temperature in my house tends to melt the frosting. I don't think 74 degrees is to warm. Do you? Apparently last year there were some "construction difficulties" do to the "weather" and it was melting the icicles off the houses. So I made sure this year to eliminate any bitching and set the thermostat to 65. And now I can't feel my toes. But at least the gingerbread houses look nice.

I think it's really sweet watching all the parents get involved and help their little ones. You capture some heart warming moments.

Ayla and Holden had so much fun putting all the candy on their houses. Holden especially enjoyed eating candy. And cookies. And frosting. And other people's house decorations.

They are so proud of their houses!
