This month Ayla and I, along with a few of our good friends, went to the annual Sequim Lavender Festival. If you love lavender this is the place you want to be. From the second you get out of the car you're welcomed by the wonderful scent of lavender. Just a faint scent. Not to much to overwhelm you. Enough for you to feel pretty and to know that the day is going to be perfect.

And a perfect day it was. The sun was out. The kids were having a blast and I enjoyed the day with some of my favorite people. You may remember a couple of them from Scrabble:
Stacey and I
Andy and Cindy
Erik and Carrie
Lavender enthusiast, they came all the way from the Minnesota to celebrate this breathtaking event. And to visit Andy and Cindy.

I never really think about how short I am until I look at a picture like this:

For Pete's sake I look like one of the kids!
(sigh)
Anyways.
We visited four lavender farms and at each spot they had live music and vendors selling their trinkets and of course food made with lavender. My favorite was the lavender ice cream and lemonade. Doesn't that sound so refreshing on a hot summer's day?
The kids had so much fun running up and down the endless rows of lavender. Stopping at times to smell the flowers. It's rare that Ayla and I get to have mommy/daughter time so to see her playing with her friends, getting her face painted and having so much fun made my day that much better.
