One of my favorite Christmas traditions is to bake cookies. And who better to do it with but with your bestest of girlfriends. It's a time for us to get together with no kids or husbands and have girl talk. This tradition started when I lived on my own and would bake cookies all by myself. I would listen to Christmas music and bake to my hearts desire. Then I would wrap my cookies in pretty tins and when people came over I would be a gracious host and offer them a cookie. Or two. Or three. I always made way to many. And ate to many. And now I have spread the cheer of baking Christmas cookies. No longer do I bake all alone. I have my closest girlfriends baking with me.

Last year was the first year I added the ugly Christmas sweaters. You get people wearing sweaters that have been in the family for eons and smell like grandma's perfume. It's lovely. And then you get those who refuse to smell like grandma (me) and by new. It's also fun to see what Christmas cheer they'll add to the attire. Like bells or snowman pins. And every year I keep inviting more people. So it makes it fun.

This year we baked A LOT of cookies. I'm talking 5 different fudges, a billion sugar cookies, almond roca, peanut brittle, candy cane cookies, no bake cookies, rum balls, snow balls, thumb prints, banana bread chocolate chunk cookies, hay stacks, gingerbread cookies, lemon bars, chocolate cookies and more! It was heavenly.
