Austin, Texas

It's been over 2 years since we visited Steve's family in Austin. We thought it was time for Ayla to meet her cousins and Aunt and Uncle and of course spend some QT with the Grandparents. So we packed our bags and headed on down south. Ayla did great on the plane, saying hi to everyone. I on the other hand didn't do so great for about the first 30 minutes. I was to busy thinking of the turbulence and spent that time in a silent cry, all the while holding Ayla in a death grip. I have a great fear of flying and from the day we booked our tickets, which was in March, I've been having major anxiety about the 4 hour flight. But needless to say the flight was smooth and we made it safe and sound. It felt so nice to get off the plane and feel the warm breeze.

Steve's parents moved into a beautiful new home and Ayla had a blast in the backyard. She's never really explored grass before and wasn't sure what to make of it when she first stepped on it. But once she realized it was ok there was no stopping her. All she did was run around in circles laughing and screaming with delight! Beyond their yard they have a green space that Steve's dad takes great care of and it adds to the peacefulness of the yard and every night they have deer that come and feed.

Ayla met her cousins Ryan and Lauren for the first time. Ryan who is 6 is extremely smart and has the biggest heart. He treated Ayla like a little sister, concerned of her whereabouts and always wanting to sit together. Lauren who is 2 months younger than Ayla is a sweet happy girl. She's definately her own person and is very independent. And very strong! It was really fun to watch the two girls play together.

It's always nice to visit with family. We always feel at home and have a relaxing visit. Not to mention being spoiled with mom's cooking and dad's jokes! Here's a few more pictures from our trip:
