There's something about baking and Fall that makes me feel all warm and cozy. Maybe it's because on a rainy day I can turn the fireplace on and a good movie like Goonies and have a slice or two of pie.
Ayla and Holden enjoy Fall because they get to go to the pumpkin patch and run through the corn maze laughing as they turn the corner hoping to lose the crazy mom who's chasing them because the decided it would be awesome to break free of the hand holding and escape. So far we have been to two pumpkin patches and I'm thinking we might go to a couple more just for fun. Because I like chasing my kids.

After our visit to the first pumpkin patch we ended up at Home Depot purchasing three carving pumpkins. Because we're smart shoppers and know that some of those farms are a rip off. I know we should support our farmers but when all they have are little baby green pumpkins...sorry it just doesn't cut it. So, we took our store bought pumpkins and carved them into a cat, witch and whatever Steve's creation was.

Today my mom and niece were with me as we met up with some friends and went to a real pumpkin patch. By real I mean you have to actually harvest your own pumpkins. The kids had fun running through the muddy fields tripping over dirty pumpkins in search if that perfect crop. As for me, I took pictures and graciously let my mom chase the kids.

I was people watching and took this picture. These guys clearly thought this was the cream of the crop.
