It's Been Three Years...

...Since Ayla's had a haircut. Technically her first haircut doesn't count as a first haircut. When you're 5 months old and your hair is falling out and all that's left is a pathetic comb over something needs to be done. And shaving her head seemed like the best solution.

I have loved how her hair has grown out and that it's really long. And so it really never occurred to me that Ayla needed a haircut until she told me she needed one. I guess when you're hair is as long as you it perceives as a problem. Especially when you're three and eating a sucker becomes an obstacle. And maybe when your mom starts picking at your split ends...

So today I took her to get her first official haircut. We went and saw Cherylyn who is a friend of ours to cut Ayla's hair. She has been so excited to get her hair done and has been talking about it for a couple of weeks. And insisted on getting her haircut first since I was also taking Holden. Personally I think she was more excited to sit in the Mercedes.

Ayla did pretty good for her first haircut. She had fun driving the car and watching Cherylyn cut her hair.

I'm so pleased with how her hair turned out. It looks so much more healthier and a little stylish too. And the best part is that Cherylyn is fast. Which is key when you have little ones. Ayla spent the rest of the day informing everyone she came across that she got a haircut today. Needless to say she is completely overjoyed and satisfied!
