Paints and Hot Wheels

I had this great idea this afternoon. Then I quickly regretted the words as they came out of my mouth:

"Hey guys, do you want to finger paint?"

I think I might have blacked out while the words came spewing out.

The idea was for Ayla and Holden to make flower hand prints for Father's Day. It started out well and they were excited to put their hands in paints and press them onto the paper. However, two minutes into it they uncontrollably rubbed their hands into all the paints and rubbed them together. Feeling the gooey-ness between their tiny fingers. Pressing their hands onto the table and enjoying the short lived freedom of something fun.

Smiles crossed their faces and I knew there was nothing I could do to stop what was to come.

Tourettes of the hands ~ recurrent involuntary movement of the hands. Unable to stop from the awesome-ness of finger painting!

Ayla and Holden got pretty intense creating rainbows and swirls. It was like watching professionals painting a million dollar picture in 6.7 seconds. Amazing.

Projects finished.

Table cleaned.
Kids clean.
Holden in PJ's.

It's 3 o'clock.

DAMN IT!

I thought that last project would get us through dinner.

Lucky for us Holden was fortunate enough to get a big boy bike today from a friend. So of course he had to try it out. I was pretty impressed with how well he did for his first time. That smile on his face melted my heart. He was having so much fun and I loved every bit of it.
