8th Annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Cookie Bake

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is to bake cookies. And who better to do it with than your closest friends. It's a time for us to get together with no kids and just hang out. This tradition started when I lived on my own and would bake cookies all by myself. I would listen to Christmas music and bake to my hearts desire. Then I would try and give them away. Of course I probably ate more than I gave. Now the joy of baking cookies is done with my bestest of friends.

My house smelled like heaven. Every now and again you would get a whiff of mint chocolate fudge or a beautifully decorated sugar cookie.

Every year I host a cookie bake and exchange and about two years ago added the ugly Xmas sweaters as added fun. However, this year I had a 50% turnout on the sweaters. I'm blaming Goodwill for not having any ugly sweaters. Actually I'm blaming all the JC Penny shoppers that can't seem to let go of their beloved sweaters and donate them to those who need them. Damn you!

I love that my friends really think about what they are going to bake. We had some really beautiful cookies made this year.

After everyone filled their goody bags I was left with 7 tins full of cookies. Thank God I'm mailing some to family. Otherwise we know where it would all go. Yep, my ass! And after a few mimosa's and 14 dozen cookies Lord knows the last thing I need is another bite!
