O' Christmas Tree

It has been our tradition that the day after Thanksgiving we get the almighty glorious Christmas tree. I love the smell of a freshly cut tree. It makes the house smell good. Finding a tree is like that of the movie 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' where Clark Griswold takes his family in the middle of the forest to find the perfect tree? Yup. That's me. I'm the Clark Griswold of the family. I drag my family all over the tree farm to find that perfect tree. Because we have vaulted ceilings it's hard to find a really nice 9 foot tree. So last year we bought a fake one. Everything about it is perfect. Except for that fresh scent called Christmas. So we decided to get a real one for the family room. There's nothing like a fresh Christmas tree to get you in the holiday spirit.

This year we went to a new tree farm with our friends Don and Stacey and their two beautiful kids. One of which is Ayla's boyfriend. That's right. Shes not even 2 and she's got a boyfriend.

I swear every tree they had was perfect. So finding one we loved wasn't hard. When it was time to cut it down one had a chinsaw and one had a handsaw. I love that Don brought a handsaw. Cutting his tree like a man. But clearly the chainsaw won.
After the guys loaded the trees on top the cars we drove to the little cider house they had in the middle of the farm. It was the cutest little house with an amazing view of the Olympics. It was a perfect way to get warm and have a good ol' cup of apple cider. Ayla never had apple cider before and let me tell ya, she drank about 23 and a half cup fulls. She loved it!

And Holden...well he slept like a champ through it all.
